Collaborations with Southington Catholic Parishes, Connecticut, USA

 

Through the generosity of the parishioners of the Catholic Parishes of Southington / Saint Thomas Church and the leadership of Frs. Nicholas Melo and Joseph Cronin and Deacon Vincent Raby, the Katarara Catholic Center located in Cyanika, Uganda, is now a 'sister parish' of the Catholic Parishes of Southington, Connecticut, USA. Father Nicholas Melo visited Kisoro in June 2014 and June 2019. Deacon Vincent Raby visited Kisoro during his diaconate formation in 2018. 

 

Father John Vianney Mbonigaba of St. Peter's Parish, Kisoro, Uganda, visited Southington, CT, USA in October 2015 to participate in parish life in Southington and to more firmly cement the relationship. Father John Vianney Kamari of Mutolere Parish in Kisoro, Uganda, visited St. Thomas parish in Spring 2017.   

 

Ongoing financial support from parishioners at St. Thomas Church is providing ongoing direct medical services including free prenatal care, delivery care, and perinatal care to women of Kisoro.
